FAQ

Common questions about our work.

Fencing, carports, roofing and land clearing — for East Texas, Cedar Creek Lake and DFW. If you don't see your question, call us.

What areas do you serve?+

We're based in Mabank, TX and work everything within about 100 miles — Cedar Creek Lake, Athens, Kaufman, Terrell, Corsicana, Tyler, Canton, Waxahachie, and all of Dallas–Fort Worth including Rockwall, Forney, Mesquite, Garland, Plano, Frisco, Arlington and Fort Worth.

What kinds of fence do you build?+

Cedar privacy fence (6' and 8', board-on-board and horizontal), wrought iron and ornamental steel, pipe and wire ranch fence, no-climb horse fence, net wire, barbed wire, chain link, and custom drive gates with automatic openers.

How much does a privacy fence cost?+

Most 6' cedar privacy fences run $28–$45 per linear foot installed on galvanized steel posts, depending on picket grade, tear-out of an existing fence and gate count. 8' and board-on-board run higher. We quote on-site for free.

Why do you use steel posts instead of wood?+

Wood posts rot at grade and East Texas clay heaves them loose. We set 2⅜" galvanized steel line posts in concrete on nearly every privacy fence, so the line stays straight and the fence stays standing in high wind.

How much does a carport cost installed?+

A standard 20'x20' double carport typically runs $3,000–$6,500 installed depending on gauge, leg height, roof style and enclosure. RV covers and fully enclosed garages price above that. We can pour the slab or build a flex-base gravel pad on the same job.

Do I need a permit for a carport or fence?+

Inside city limits, usually yes for carports and sometimes for fences over a certain height. On county acreage, often no. We check with the local authority for your address and pull whatever's required.

Do you handle roof insurance claims?+

Yes. We inspect and photograph hail or wind damage, write the scope and meet your adjuster on the roof so nothing is left off the estimate. We install both architectural shingle and 26-gauge metal roofing.

What does land clearing cost per acre?+

Light brush mulched typically runs $1,500–$3,000 per acre. Heavy timber, root grubbing and haul-off cost more. We walk the property and quote the actual density rather than an average.

Do you give free estimates?+

Yes. Free on-site quotes for residential and commercial projects in our service area. Larger commercial estimates that require survey or engineering may be quoted at cost after the walk-through.

Are you insured?+

Yes — general liability and workers' compensation. Certificates available on request before work starts.

How soon can you start?+

Small fence, carport and repair jobs usually start within 1–2 weeks. Full roof replacements, big fence runs and site work schedule out 3–6 weeks in busy season. Weather affects scheduling and we're honest about dates.

Can you clear the fence line and build the fence?+

Yes, and it's one of our most common combinations. Our clearing crew mulches and grubs the line and the fence crew sets posts on the same project — one contractor, one bill.

Do you do commercial work?+

Yes — commercial chain link and ornamental fencing, equipment shelters, pad sites, drainage and concrete flatwork. We work with builders, HOAs and property managers across the region.

Do you still do grading, drainage and concrete?+

We do. Building pads, driveways, French drains, slabs, RV pads and hardscape — often as prep for a fence, carport or shop on the same property.

How do you handle Cedar Creek Lake waterfront work?+

We coordinate with ROLWA for any work in the easement, use riprap or engineered bulkhead for shoreline stabilization, and understand which materials hold up to lake water and freeze-thaw.
