Local expertise

Built for East Texas dirt and Cedar Creek Lake weather.

Cedar Creek Lake dirt is a mix of black gumbo clay and sandy loam that swells, cracks, and moves with every rain. Grading here isn't the same as up in North Dallas — if you don't compact and drain properly, your slab or driveway will crack within a season. We've worked the lots in Gun Barrel City, Payne Springs, Log Cabin and Mabank enough to know which sub-base each area needs. For DFW pads in Rockwall, Forney or Waxahachie we adjust for the darker clay. One crew, local knowledge, no guesswork.

FAQ

Common questions.

How much does site grading cost near Cedar Creek Lake?+

Most residential grading jobs in the Mabank / Gun Barrel City area run $1,500–$8,000 depending on lot size, haul-off, and how much fill is needed. We give a firm on-site quote — no surprise charges after the dozer shows up.

Do I need a permit to grade my lot in Henderson or Kaufman County?+

For simple residential leveling, usually no. For pad sites, driveways crossing a county road, or any work in a floodplain or near the ROLWA lake easement, yes. We handle the permit coordination for you.

Can you build a pad for a barndominium or shop?+

Yes — barndo and shop pads are one of our most common jobs. We cut, fill, compact with select fill, and finish with TxDOT flex base so your concrete slab sits on a stable, drainable base.

How long does it take to grade a typical residential lot?+

Half-acre to one-acre residential lots usually take 1–3 days. Larger commercial pads or subdivisions run 1–3 weeks depending on haul distance and weather.

Do you haul off dirt or bring in fill?+

Both. We haul out excess, bring in select fill or topsoil, and can source crushed limestone and road base for driveways and pad tops.
